Jaime’s Biography

Greene Family

After graduating High School, I had a choice to either go to college and play my cello or serve my country in the Armed Forces. I chose to serve my country by enlisting in the Navy. During my enlistment, I was blessed to work on my education. I completed my undergraduate degree at Oakland University with a B.A. in Communication graduating with Honors while working full time.  I decided to continue on with my education while working as a Veterans Counselor and completed my M.A. in Human Services; receiving honors and graduating a week before my second child was born.

Currently, my husband works for the Army, and I am home raising our two children. I am actively involved in the Richmond Community Baptist Church, the Central Macomb Right to Life, and The Blue Water Pregnancy Center. I am a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), American Veterans (AMVETS), and American Legion.  My Daughters of the American Revolution application will be submitted soon!  I have volunteered for both the Recreation Board and the Economic Development Commission (EDC) for the City.  As Councilor I will continue to serve on the EDC for the City of Richmond.

While serving on the Recreation Board, we completed the Senior Center; the Master Recreation Plan (enabling Richmond to apply for special grants); the Skate Park; Pool Renovations; and as Councilor is still looking at creative ways to finance a Splash Pad and provide Universal Access to our Beebe Street Park.

The EDC has progressed to become a “think and idea tank” for Council and the  Tax Increment Finance Board (TIFA). While serving on the EDC we have established, maintained, and revised numerous grant programs to local businesses. Richmond is now the benchmark for small municipalities across the State of Michigan for our programs. Both boards that I serve(d) on have a clear vision. This vision enables them to reach achievable goals and objectives that are set on an annual basis and creates accountability metrics for the boards to live up to.

When I first decided to run, I carefully considered what I had to offer to the city, how I would fit in, and what I could do to make this community better. I believe that my education, personality, experience and core values will ensure Richmond preserves its small town feel and maintains its reputation as one of the best run, fiscally sound communities. Richmond is a great place to live, raise a family and build a business. I am serving you the residents.  It is your voice I am here to represent not my own. I want to work for you and Keep Richmond Moving Forward!
